The Head on the Beach Murder.
In early April of 2008, two young sisters aged five and six were innocently playing on the east coast shoreline of Arbroath in Angus. It was around mid morning when something on the shore caught the attention of one of the sisters. Whatever it was looked out of place so the girls decided to take a closer look. They began to unwrap the mysterious package, carefully removing layers of the black plastic that had been wrapped around whatever was inside. Soon there were screams and the girls ran back to their mother scared and in shock at what they had discovered. The mother approached the bag in disbelief at what the girls were claiming was inside but sure enough their claims were true. On inspection of the item it was evident that wrapped in the black plastic was the severed head of a female.
Officers soon arrived and began emptying the beach of tourists as it had been relatively busy at the time given it was the Easter school holidays. Constable Bovill reported that through a one inch gap in the plastic, she could see human flesh and inside was a shopping bag containing the head. It wasn’t long before they made a further gruesome discovery. Just yards from where the head had been found, a severed hand was located and also wrapped up in a plastic bin liner. Police began trying to establish the identity of the woman with the hope of using fingerprints and dental records against the national…
